Robert’s Western World

Robert’s Western World was everything I thought a Honky Tonk would be… a tad edgy, dark, filled with nostalgia and history, crowded and absolutely rockin’.

It took a few minutes for us to find a seat here at the infamous Robert’s Western World right on Broadway. It was a hair awkward because I had the kiddos with me. Didn’t care much though. They had every right to be there. You see, children are allowed to enter, stay, and have a ball until 6pm, then it’s strictly 21 and over.

Honestly, this was THE best way for me to show them first hand what Music City is all about!! People wouldn’t think Nashville would necessarily be a destination for children and I’m here to tell you that’s absolutely false! We all equally LOVED honky talk hopping and Robert’s was at the absolute top of our favorites list! A must stop!

The girls LOVED Eileen Rose & Silver Threads who played while we were there. They were incredible! I highly recommend trying to stop by when they’re there. They are regulars! (Check the band schedule on Robert’s site). They played it all….Janis, Patsy Cline, Cash (obviously) and some fab originals such as “Rose Garden” which is one of our favorites. They were so insanely talented!! That guitarist blew my mind!! He could’ve easily been Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Satriani. Wowza!!
Make sure you bring cash to drop in their artist’s bucket. They live on these tip and it’s the least you can do as there’s no cover charge. The girls begged me to purchase the CDs the band was roaming around selling. I think I paid $5 each! It was the best souvenir we bought our entire trip! We still listen to them daily!!

The bartender was a doll. You can place order at the bar and she will bring it to your table. I had some local drafts, Yazoo for about $6 each. The girls split pickle spears and sweet potato fries they gobbled up in two seconds as well as moon pies for $1. Typical bar food. PBR & fried bologna sammys are the supposed “thing” here however.

Definitely put Robert’s on the very top of your Broadway stops list!! It was an absolute blast!!
